It’s been seven years since 27-year-old director Xavier Dolan first took a film to the Cannes Film Festival and, at this point, he describes the place as a kind of home. “But you don’t live in Cannes,” he says. “When you’re here it’s more like you’re flying.” 

Here, Dolan, who is also known for directing Adele’s video for “Hello” and starring in Louis Vuitton campaigns, took a minute from his back-to-back Cannes schedule to talk to Vogue.com about why he doesn’t differentiate between high and pop culture.
